HRYBAN Hryhorii Petrovych

Position, scientific degree, academic status: professor of the department, honored worker of science and technology of Ukraine, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, active member (academician) of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, honored professor of Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University, Honorary Professor of Polissia National University.

Biography:  Hryhorii Hryban was born on April 19, 1952, in the village of Viazovets, Pulinskyi district, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from Ivan Franko Korostyshiv Pedagogical School in 1971 and in 1978 he also graduated with honors from the Faculty of Physical Education of the M. Ostrovskyi Vinnytsia State Pedagogical Institute.

Hryhorii Petrovych is a member of the specialized academic council for the defense of doctoral theses D 26.053.14 at the National M. P. Drahomanov Pedagogical University, specialty: 13.00.02 — theory and teaching methods (physical education, fundamentals of health).

Hryhorii Hryban is the head of the regional public organization "Union of Sports Veterans of Zhytomyr Oblast" and a member of the branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in the Zhytomyr region, as well as the Judge of the national category in weightlifting.

Started working at the university: September 2013.

Information about higher education: Hryhorii Petrovych Hryban graduated with honors from the Faculty of Physical Education of the Vinnytsia M. Ostrovskyi State Pedagogical Institute in 1978. In 1986, he defended his candidate's thesis on the specialty 13.00.04 — theory and methods of physical education and sports training; in 1991, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor; in 2013, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the specialty 13.00.02 — theory and teaching methods (physical education, fundamentals of health). The topic of his doctoral dissertation is the following: "Methodical system of physical education of students at agricultural universities" (diploma - DD No. 001965 dated 04/25/2013). In 2014, Hryhorii Petrovych was awarded the academic title of professor (diploma - 12PR No. 009996 dated 12.22.2014). In 2015, he was elected an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine; in 2019 he was elected a member (academician) of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine.

Scientific interests and achievements: improvement of the educational process of physical education of students and creation of the best in Ukraine scientific and methodological support of the system of physical education of students. Hryhorii Hryban is the author of 632 scientific and scientific-methodological works on the problems of the theory and methodology of physical education, pedagogy, sports psychology, history of physical culture (12 monographs, 7 of which are individual, 23 teaching aids/manuals, among which 11 have the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine); also, he possesses 44 state certificates for intellectual property rights of Ukraine. His scientific works have been published in 27 countries of the world. He is the member of editorial boards of scientific journals and anthologies; he trained two doctors of pedagogical sciences and six candidates of sciences (PhD) in physical education and sports and pedagogical sciences. Hryhorii Petrovych Hryban works in the following scientific directions: 1. Methodical system of physical education of students of higher educational institutions. 2. Theoretical and methodological principles of improving the educational process of physical education in higher education institutions. 3. Improvement of the training system of highly qualified weightlifters.

Subjects which Hryhorii Hryban teaches: management in the field of physical culture and sports, theory and methods of teaching athletics, theory and teaching methods (physical culture), current problems of physical culture, technology of presentation and design of scientific research, physical education and sports.
