Leadership and information - communication competencies as the leading military professional competence components of a modern officer

The importance of the article is that in the context of a full-scale russian-Ukrainian war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to train highly professional officers-leaders who are able to make immediate decisions, act on a targeted and efficient basis, and take full responsibility for their actions and performance. At the same time, due to the development of information technology in the world and the technologization of all spheres of human activity, including military, an officer must have information- communication and leadership competencies formed at the respective level.
In order to discover the issue of this article, the following theoretical research methods were used: analysis of scientific publications on the subject of the article, systematic analysis and synthesis, generalization of scientific literature, categorization, specification of the main scientific provisions.
In recent years, there have been increasing requirements for professional entities to obtain essential competencies that will allow them to be competitive in the employment market. The military sphere requires military professionals to be able to take risks, make better decisions in a quickly changing situation, interact with subordinate personnel, and be a leader in everything. In today's information society, it is impossible to be a leader without developing a high level of information and communication competence, because it mainly includes the ability to work with information.
The article substantiates and proves why these types of competencies have become needed in the military professional officers training in the context of the russian federation's war against Ukraine. The authors conclude that achieving the strategic goal of our country's Euro-Atlantic integration is possible with the introduction of modern information technologies at all levels of military professional officers training.
